Accurapid - Translation firm offers translation/proofreading as well as translation related and general office work. One unit only.
Adaptive Sports Foundation, Ski Windham - After extensive training course in October/November interns will assist and instruct disabled skiers at Windham Ski Center. Requires one or two days a weekend during their season (December-March). Ski passes free. Car necessary.
Architects - Students serve as general assistants.
Camo Laboratories - Analytical chemistry lab uses a variety of automated and manual testing techniques: instrumental analysis, chromatography, and atomic absorption. One unit only.
Green Chimneys School - An international agency that works with at-risk youth through animal husbandry, a wildlife zoo, therapeutic riding.Pre-school age children too.
Hearts and Hands Together - Administrative assistant needed for this program to encourage schools to adopt each other in friendship.
Hudson Valley Raptor Center - Organization dedicated to the rehabilitation and release of injured or young birds of prey; also conducts research and educational programs.
Kagyu Thubten Choling Monastery - Interns are needed to assist in all aspects of monastery life, such as preparing the traditional offering of butterlamps, making the offering cakes call tormas and helping to maintain the shrine.
Mohonk Mountain House - Various projects especially in marketing.
Our Lady of the Resurrection Monastery - Work on the farm with the livestock and gardens, or work with Brother Victor in his writing and publishing business.
Political Offices - Work with the local offices of congressional representatives.
Public Relations - Almost all nonprofit organizations engage in public relations; interns can assist with newsletters; advertisements in the media; development of brochures; membership and fund raising campaigns.
Stewart International Airport
1. Public Affairs: Assist with writing, editing, and proofreading
of press releases, newsletter articles, advertising copy.
2. Airport Manager's Office: Assist with various projects including operational reports, safety manuals, and the Noise Reduction Program.
Trevor Zoo - Student needed to help with animals and to conduct research on nutrition to determine the correct dietary needs of the animals.
