Board of Cooperative Educational Services - B.O.C.E.S. provides public school programs for visually impaired, physically disabled or emotionally disturbed children as well as classes for hard-of-hearing youngsters. Students serve as teacher aides.
Briggs Farm - Work directly with people with developmental disabilities in a cutting edge program on a farm with an innovative director.
Greystone Programs - This developmentally disabled agency needs interns in therapy assistance (P.T., speech, music, O.T.), computer training, multimedia communications, and working with master level psychologists.
New Horizons - Advocates for services for and public acceptance of the developmentally disabled as well as providing services and maintaining community residences.
Rehabilitation Programs, Inc. - Integrated program of rehabilitative service for persons with physical, mental or emotional disabilities. Includes opportunities to assist with speech, physical and occupational therapy and tutorial and recreational activities for the retarded and multi-handicapped in preschool, school and workshop settings. Also, assist staff in mainstreaming clients into the work force by serving as job coaches.
Rehabilitative Support Services - Assist with counseling, daily living skills in community residences for people with developmental disabilities.
Taconic Resources for Independence - Advocacy and service agency for all people with disabilities. Provides information and referral training in independent living skills, counseling, and interpretive services.
YMCA - Teach swimming to disabled children.

Arms Acres - Residential drug-alcohol treatment center for adolescents. Observe group therapy; sit in on staff meetings.
Astor Day Treatment Center - A comprehensive diagnostic and treatment center for children who are emotionally disturbed. Students assist in classroom and daily behavior and activity recording.
Community Friends - Program that trains volunteers to serve as friends to recently released mental patients. One year commitment necessary.
Comprehensive Habilitation Center - This agency provides on-site clinical services to adult developmentally disabled. Intern would help provide the element of quality assurance measures needed by interviewing client, agencies, etc.
Dutchess Horizons - A social club for former mental patients, elderly, and others needing help in becoming socially adjusted. Be a companion, converse, react, and just be there.
Hudson River Psychiatric Center - Interested in organizational structure, sociological and psychological aspects of mental health; occupational, recreational or speech therapy; halfway houses, working with patients in the community, etc.
Academy St. Community Residence - A residence for chronically mentally disabled adult men.
Anderson School - Work with developmentally disabled and autistic youth.
Astor Home - There are openings for placements at this residential home for emotionally disturbed children as teacher aides.
Cardinal Hayes Home - Residence for developmentally disabled and autistic children could use interns to assist clients with daily living skills and in recreation.
Children's Home - The oldest residential home for area children (4-17) who are emotionally disturbed or from broken homes. Needed are library assistants, reading and recreational aides. Students are encouraged to stay for dinner.
Greystone Programs - Work with emotionally disabled adults in various group homes.
St. Cabrini Group Home, Poughkeepsie - After school tutors needed for boys 13-17 years old in a residential home close to the campus.
