SENIOR CITIZEN AGENCIES AND PROGRAMS
Avalon - Interns are needed for new senior adult home near the Dutchess County Airport.
Concord Village Lutheran Care Center - Interns are needed to interact with senior adults at a brand new facility near the college. Duties include recreation, pet therapy, and music therapy.
Daybreak - A division of the Dutchess County Association for Senior Citizens. Assistance is needed at the adult day care center with adults who are experiencing early stages of Alzheimer's or Parkinson's Disease, recovering stroke victims or mobility restricted seniors.
Dutchess County Association for Senior Citizens - This organization operates drop-in centers throughout the County, providing recreational and social activities for senior citizens. Students work with senior citizens on arts and crafts, lead reading groups, tape oral histories, etc.
Dutchess County Office of the Aging - Operates nutrition sites for the elderly. Students may also work on research projects or serve as a general assistant in the office.
Eden Park and Fishkill Health Related Facility - These privately operated nursing homes allow students to interact with patient and staff alike, affording a good overview of the operation of such a facility and the care provided its residents.
Vassar Warner Home - Provide companionship and recreation for the elderly at this small residential facility.
